ウィリアム M. ペトルシャック William M. Petruschak [教授]
国際語として用いられる英語は、実際には民族間・国家間のコミュ二ケーションが平等に行なえる手段であるかどうかという問題を焦点にして、国際的コミュ二ケーションは、広い意味ではどういうことかを研究しています。特に、完全に文化的・言語的な偏りのない言葉でない限り、英語だけではなく、どの言葉でも相互理解・相互尊重を促進することには役に立たないのではないかが肝心なところです。
Hi! How are you?”. English communication starts here.
But it doesn’t end here, and it’s not about grammar drills and long, difficult reading passages, it’s person-to-person, live communication, just like in my hometown, New York in the USA. My job is to help you be good “communicators” in English, and I am always thinking about how to make communicating in English more interesting and fun! In “Bill”’s classes (that’s my nickname), we will use many techniques to practice “real communication”, but listening and speaking are always at the center of the 4 main parts of every lesson: 1 “warm-up time”, when we have simple discussions about students’ lives; 2 “free-question time”; 3 “today’s activity”, when we play games, solve puzzles, or listen and do interesting tasks; 4 “text time”, when we focus on the fundamental phrases and vocabulary you need for smooth communication. Come to my classes with an open mind and a “challenge spirit”: you’ll see how much fun learning English can be!
